There are many ways to get involved with Orange Central, from helping decorate to being on the planning committee!  No prior experience is necessary, just come and help us plan exciting events for this year!  If you are interested in being on the planning committee, please email Courtney Jones at cejone02@syr.edu.

Sunday, November 6
12 - 2pm Decorating of Schine/Goldstein Student Centers

2 - 4pm Parade Banner Decorating Party, Schine Underground


Monday, November 7
8pm SU Idol, presented by Traditions Commission, The Mandarins and University Union, Schine Underground. Tickets will be available at Schine Box Office; $3 student with SUID, $5 fac/staff/alumni, $7 general admission. Come vote for your favorite SU singer to win!


Tuesday, November 8
11am - 2pm Slice of Orange Days, games, prizes, food, announcement of Orange Central Court. Play traditions trivia for a free Orange Central t-shirt, Community Service project with SU-SIFE DOT, a sustainability initiative that encourages students and community members to "Do One Thing" that is sustainable in some way.  The event asks students to: Write a thank you card for veterans, Toss some pocket change our way to be donated to a cause, and Toss crumpled recycled paper into recycling bins, Schine Student Center Atrium

12 - 2pm Office Decorating Judging

8pm Battle of the Bands presented by MEISA, Schine Underground. Free tickets available at Schine Box Office. Send in your demo to meisa.at.cuse@gmail.com by October 25. Demos and band must: Demonstrate ORIGINAL music, music must be available in a recording that is widely acceptable and include either a minimum of 3 songs or 15 minutes of music, bands must have at least 2 members that are SU/ESF students, bands cannot have competed in MEISA's battle of the bands in any prior year.


Wednesday, November 9

5pm Otto Quest, Competition to win prizes by completing clue stops around campus

8pm Dance Showcase "Bring the Beat Back" sponsored by Traditions Commission and directed by Danceworks. Featuring performances by Danceworks, Raices, Kalabash, Creations, Orange Pulse, Orange Bhangra, Expressive Elements, TAP, Couture Dolls, SU Breakdance club, Syracuse University Dance Team, Shift Dance Crew, Zinda, Black Reign Step Team, Groovestand, Redemption, The Mandarins, Phi Beta Sigma and Kappa Alpha Theta . Goldstein Auditorium, Schine Student Center. Tickets will be available at Schine Box Office, $3 students w SUID, $5 faculty/staff/alumni, $7 general admission
